Hi, I’m Maddie Crider—a communicator, creator, and storyteller grounded in purpose. I'm currently pursuing a degree in Communication and a Worship Arts certificate at Wheaton College, where I’m deepening my passion for meaningful connection, community-building, and sharing the beauty of truth through words, visuals, and worship.
Before Wheaton, I attended Oakland Early College, graduating with four associate degrees in Cinematic Arts, Business Administration, International Business, and Accounting. That unique blend of education shaped me into someone who thinks strategically but creates with heart. From student government to film festivals, from worship leading to business pitches—I’ve always lived at the intersection of creativity and service.
Whether I’m leading worship, producing films, or just capturing a story in motion, I believe in using every platform to reflect love, build community, and glorify God. Welcome to my world—past, present, and unfolding.
Venturing into the realm of Cinematic Arts is more than a chosen path; it's a continuation of a lifelong passion that germinated during my earliest projects in middle school. The allure of storytelling through visuals has been a constant thread in my journey. I find joy in the process, from conceptualizing ideas to bringing them to life on the screen. This passion has driven me to seek opportunities beyond the standard curriculum – I've enrolled in several specialized classes and programs, each contributing to my understanding of the craft. Whether it's delving into the nuances of scriptwriting or mastering the technicalities of cinematography, I've embraced every facet of filmmaking with enthusiasm.
While storytelling and filmmaking are at the core of what I do, I’ve found myself equally drawn to the world of planning, creating, and connecting in unexpected ways.
Event Planning & Organization
From coordinating school-wide events to helping lead fundraisers and student initiatives, I’ve always had a passion for creating experiences that bring people together. I find joy in the details—scheduling, logistics, creative themes, and the satisfaction of seeing a vision come to life. Whether it's for a campus club, community event, or something entirely new, I thrive in organized chaos and love making spaces feel intentional and memorable.
Social Media & Digital Presence
As someone who’s grown up in the digital age, I understand the importance of thoughtful content and authentic storytelling online. I’ve helped manage promotional campaigns for clubs, student events, and my own brand—leveraging design, captions, and engagement strategies to connect with the right audience. I'm always experimenting with how to share messages in ways that feel both personal and powerful.
Pinkie Promise Crochet
In 2024, I launched Pinkie Promise, my crochet business dedicated to creating handmade, meaningful pieces with a soft spot for cuteness and comfort. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a way to blend creativity and entrepreneurship. Each piece is made with care, and each sale is a reminder that small, slow work can still make a big impact.
Want to know more about what drives me?
I’ve shared a personal essay that explores how the number five has symbolized my journey through perfectionism, burnout, and ultimately, peace in my faith. It’s a glimpse into who I am behind the resume — you can read it below to understand the heart behind my work and the balance I now strive to live by.
